This research deals with the behavioral paradox of ethical leadership and unethical pro-organizational general banking manager behavior. The study aims to identify potential relationships between unethical pro-organizational behavior variables and ethical bank manager leadership, comprising an exploratory and quantitative research applying interviews and a multivariate analysis. The researched object consisted of general banking managers evaluated through bank employee perceptions. Concerning data treatment, structural equation modeling was applied to verify inter-variable influences. The findings indicate that ethical general banking manager leadership negatively and significantly influences unethical pro-organizational behavior, and that the relationship between ethical leadership and unethical pro-organizational behavior is not inversely proportional, demonstrating that increased ethical leadership does not combat unethical pro-organizational behavior to the same extent.
