Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic, which broke out on a global scale in the year 2020, brought countless consequences for the entire population, impacting the entire world economy, in addition to transforming habits and behaviors. One of the main changes was the more frequent adherence to virtual channels, both by consumers and entrepreneurs, who needed to reinvent themselves when facing sanitary measures adopted in different parts of the world. In this sense, this work sought to analyze how the pandemic affected the consumer's behavior regarding the use of delivery applications and the respective hygiene care. In addition, it was also possible to understand how the relationship of consumers with online shopping was  developed, how they dealt with social isolation and how they were affected by the financial crisis' scenario. The applied methodology consisted of a quantitative research with an exploratory-descriptive approach. Data was collected through an online questionnaire, published on social networks, obtaining a total of 592 valid responses, which were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results obtained showed some changes in consumer behavior after the arrival of the pandemic. Virtually all respondents started to use delivery services, as well as there was an expressive growth in online purchases. It was also possible to notice that there was an increase in hygiene care and that social isolation was accomplished by a large part of the respondents. Even after the end of the pandemic, it is expected that some of these habits will remain, thus redefining current consumer behavior.
