SUSTAINABILITY AND PUBLIC POLICIES: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS OF SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION IN THE WEB OF SCIENCE BASE

Abstract

The main objective of this article is to carry out a quantitative investigation on the behavior of the scientific production of researchers in SUSTAINABILITY AND PUBLIC POLICIES, materialized in the form of digital articles, published in the annals of the WEB OF SCIENCE database. Within the annals of the aforementioned database, 14,001 articles were located, written by 40,643 authors, linked to 4,695 journals. The main results indicate that: (1) scientific production began in the year 2000 and reached its peak in 2024 with the publication of 1,630 articles; (2) the authors do not demonstrate continuity of research in this area, since 35,411 authors published only 01 article on the subject in the period analyzed; (3) among the Educational Institutions found, the most prolific were: UNIVERSITY OF LONDON; The University System of California and Wageningen University published almost 5% of the sample, 259, 192 and 138 consecutive works; (4) the most prolific authors were: Agostinho, Gianetti and Zhang. They were the authors who contributed the most to the theme, these three authors were responsible for the publication of 59 of the 14,001 files found. As a suggestion, it is expected that new research be carried out and apply qualitative techniques aiming at deepening the real difficulties experienced by researchers in the production and publication of their works within this theme.
