Abstract

This article explores the importance of integrating playful resources into primary education, based on the Brazilian Law of Guidelines and Bases of Education (LDB 9.394/96), which regulates the organization of basic education in Brazil. While early childhood education commonly employs playful activities to foster social interaction, creativity, and cognitive development, these resources are underutilized in the early years of primary education, a critical stage for literacy development. This study aims to underscore the relevance of play as a pedagogical tool to make learning more meaningful and enjoyable at this educational stage. The methodology involved a bibliographic review and field research, including quantitative data collection through an online questionnaire targeted at teachers. The results indicate that teachers view playful resources as essential for enhancing the teaching-learning process, particularly during the literacy phase, as they make lessons more dynamic and foster student engagement. The study concludes that incorporating playful materials into the early primary education curriculum can significantly enhance the quality of education, promoting more enjoyable and effective learning while supporting students' holistic development.
