Abstract

The objective of this research is to detect the impacts of the use of just in time by type of business of the city of Suzano-SP. Just in time is cited as a powerful tool to reduce costs and improve production, but it is necessary to verify its impacts on other elements of the supply chain. After the bibliographic review, a questionnaire was prepared and sent to companies in the city. Results show similarity in the survey across type of business, most listed issues such as difficulty in order changes and late delivery by suppliers; and frequent order changes and product delivery difficulties caused by customers. Regarding causing greater pollution by cargo fractionation and the necessity of more qualified employees and better planning, there was no consensus.
