PRODUCTION OF RECYCLED CONCRETE BLOCKS USING C&D WASTE (CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION WASTE)
Resumo
This paper aims to present an ecological and viable alternative for the production chain of Civil Construction, through renewable resources from C&D Waste (Construction and Demolition Waste), for the manufacturing of Recycled Concrete Blocks for masonry walls, in order to meet a growing demand and, at the same time, contribute to minimizing impacts on the environment by reducing the exploitation of natural resources, and allowing progress in technological research regarding the reuse of these resources, while providing evidence and instruments for standardization in competent bodies. The paper includes a detailed laboratory analysis of the constituent materials of C&D Waste through different collections, processing, and determination of aggregates by test methods provided in ABNT NBR 15116:2014, which will be used in the block production process, which in turn will be subjected to specific tests to comply with the characteristics of ABNT NBR 6136:2014 standard. The results obtained presented the viability of this study from an economic, technical, and sustainable perspective.
