CEO E ESTRATÉGIAS DE INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO DAS FIRMAS: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA DE LITERATURA DE 1998 A 2018

Resumo

Este artigo objetivou mapear o estudo atual da produção científica sobre CEO e sua influência na internacionalização das firmas. Metodologicamente, realizou-se uma revisão de literatura a partir de um levantamento da produção cientifica publicada em periódicos internacionais, o estudo é longitudinal dos artigos publicados na base de dados Scopus em revistas internacionais de língua inglesa no Business Management and Accouting com publicações no período de 1998 a 2018. Em uma amostra de 541 artigos, foram selecionados pelas palavras-chaves CEOs e internacionalização 39 artigos. Os resultados mostram que o assunto vem sendo abordado nos 20 anos pesquisados em países diferentes, com uma crescente abordagem do tema nos últimos 3 anos. Teoricamente, é possível perceber que a Teoria da Agência se destaca nos estudos, embora a pesquisa tenha sido impulsionada mais pelo fenômeno do que pelo desenvolvimento da teoria, nossas análises fornecem insights sobre a influência dos CEOs na internacionalização das firmas. As análises não buscam estabelecer uma nova conceituação, mas revelar a estrutura intelectual do campo e como ele evoluiu ao longo das décadas. As contribuições deste estudo focam na ampliação da literatura sobre CEO e as estratégias de internacionalização das firmas, e possibilita novos direcionamentos de pesquisa contribuindo para o avanço da literatura.
