Abstract

This article explores the complex interactions between informational superficiality, digital content consumption, and the development of critical reading skills within the contemporary digital communication context. Using a qualitative and exploratory approach, grounded in authors such as Bauman (2001), Bourdieu (1986), and Wolf (2018), the study investigates how digital culture impacts ethical and cognitive processes. In addition to reviewing fundamental concepts such as liquid modernity, cultural capital, and neurocognitive transformations, the research examines practical initiatives like participatory culture workshops, ethical algorithms, and digital literacy programs. Finally, it proposes strategies to reconcile technological advances with the strengthening of critical and ethical reading in the digital environment, addressing the challenges of engagement and reflection in an era dominated by the speed of information.
