SIMULAÇÃO EM OPERAÇÃO DE CROSS-DOCKING: UM ESTUDO DE CASO EM UMA EMPRESA DE SÃO PAULO/SP

Abstract

With constant competition, more and more companies seek to optimize the performance of processes in order to become agile and efficient. In this way they seek to invest in technologies and software that assist in process analysis, which are indispensable for any business sector. The fundamental objective of this research is to show, through a case study, how computer simulation, with the aid of the Arena software, can contribute to improvements in the cross docking process of a company in the transportation industry, optimizing its processes and utilization. of resources. The methodology applied to achieve the objective of the study was made through a bibliographic review of the studies on Simulation, Queue Theory and Cross-Docking, afterwards the modeling was performed by collecting the time spent in each process. Through the results obtained it was possible to identify a relevant percentage of idleness in the processes of separation and storage. The solution found to optimize the processes was the suggestion to reduce the number of employees to 3, a fact that causes a bottleneck in the processes, but does not affect the work flow.
